Ms. Neha PandyaNon-Executive Director
Ms. Neha Pandya has served as part of the senior management of the International Law Institute-African Centre for Legal Excellence (ILI-ACLE) in Kampala, Uganda since July 2009, most recently appointed as Senior Director- International Initiatives. In this capacity, Ms. Pandya has designed and managed technical assistance and training programs in areas of legal and judicial reform across Africa, including Rwanda, Liberia and the East African Community. Of key relevance, Ms. Pandya successfully spearheaded a large- scale access to justice initiative across 110 districts in Uganda, which has involved the training of over.
7,000 quasi-judicial officers, in partnership with the Government of Uganda. On behalf of ILI-ACLE, she sits on the Committee on Legal Education and Training of the Uganda Law Council.
In addition to her work at ILI-ACLE, Ms. Pandya is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Inuka Ltd., an ambitious job-matching platform dedicated to tackling Uganda’s unemployment crisis by democratizing the process for Ugandan Youth to find dignified, short-term work in micro, small and medium-size enterprises (MSMEs), and unlocking jobs that fall outside traditional full-time employment. In 2014, Ms. Pandya was selected amongst rising social entrepreneurs and social change leaders across East Africa as an Acumen East Africa Fellow. In 2016, she was appointed as one of the founding members of the Board of Directors of Yako Microfinance, a Microfinance deposit-taking institution regulated by the Bank of Uganda where she currently serves as the Chairperson of the Compensation Committee and Member of the Audit Committee.
Prior to moving to Uganda, Ms. Pandya worked as an Associate Attorney in the Employment and Labor Law practice group at Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her Juris Doctor from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics Policy and Metropolitan Studies, with honors, from New York University. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
